Cross stitch letters generator
Type a name, date or quote and get a ready-to-stitch chart. Pick a cross stitch font and a DMC color, then print it or save it as an image.
Tip: letter height sets the size. Classic letters are 7 stitches tall, about half an inch on 14-count Aida. Check the fabric you need with the cross stitch calculator.
Cross stitch alphabet
The full alphabet and numbers in the font you picked. Use it to chart your own words, or print it and keep it next to your hoop. Find more thread colors in the DMC color chart.
Letter questions
Which cross stitch font is best for names?
Classic is the easiest to read and to stitch. Bold stands out on a sampler or a gift, Italic adds a bit of flair, and Tiny fits small spaces like bookmarks and ornaments.
How many strands should I use for letters?
Use 2 strands on 14-count Aida for full, solid letters. On 18-count or finer, 1 or 2 strands both work. For a backstitched outline, 1 strand gives the sharpest line.
Can I use the chart for free?
Yes. Print it, save it and stitch it as often as you like, for yourself or as a gift.
